Dear Mrs Swannell
I am just writing you a note to thank you for your kindness in sending us the candy. Ken Bateman brought it down to the billet where Jack Bennett and I were quartered. We passed it on from him, Tucker, however] was absent from his Company at the time, & would not be back for a couple of weeks.
