Thursday November 4th

Come in on an early train & go up to Franks factory-about 200 hands employed- apparently am an object of intense interest especially to the cutter who has invented a mimenwerfen (?)- In afternoon go to St Pauls- & down Ludgate Hill - Jack Mitchell comes down at five & takes me to the theatre "A Piece of Fluff" - a very broad farce , but well acted. London the same as ever & the war might be a thousand miles away-except a policeman takes me into the big building wrecked in the last zeppelin raid. The policemen here are marvels of information.- Sleep at Faulkners Hotel, Charing Cross Station, Mitchell going home at midnight. He looks a huge size in his "British warm"
