Reported to HQ 1st Div, at Dieppe – Col. Mitchell wants me immediately for draughting & surveying – To have rank of Serg’t at Can Army Corps HQ. Endorces my commission apt & writes letter regarding my educational qualifications - & promises to send everything to War Office – Says Gen. Leckie agreed reluctantly to let me go – I seem to be much in demand!
