Tuesday - September 14th

Germans still shelling Trench 140-142 - one casualty - 5-9 H.E. Our artillery retaliate with shrapnel. German artillery registering - 4 shells near Dereumaux shop at Romarin.

2d Can. Gives now over & Canadian army corps formed - under general Alderson

Baxter gets a haggis, which Flore cooks for him - one taste enough for me - more 1st Canadian Artill. Bde.

At U.3 Earthworks being built - more stakes were added - two large coils thick black wire left on right hand of Messines Road - ½" diam & no barb

Right section - 770 artillery fire & little rifle, machine gun fire.

128-134 - Our snipers accounted for three Germans Today - in Prussian grey service uniform -

the following notice put up by enemy opp 134

"Brest Litowsk the last fortified place in Polawie is fallen. We only lost 3
