Enemy sTill mainTaining Their quieT aTTiTude wiTh excepTion of arTillery, which was more acTive Than usual. 5pm enemy shelled cenTre secTion Trenches wiTh 4.9 guns from La PoTTerie - Field guns from BeThlem shelled Hill 63 530-600 am FronT in viciniTy of Messines Road shelled wiTh heavy shells - 18" long 9" diam - appeared To wobble in flighT. 2d Div. - quiTe heavy shelling of kemmel -Our morTars endeavoured To regisTer buT were heavily shelled for 1 1/2 hrs Bombing - On 1sT Div. in early morning large enemy Trench morTars acTive. 14 [Minenwefer?] fired aT our lefT Trenches German wireless Aeroplane Signals - Between BaTTeries + Aeroplanes 1.
