brain would be mighty useful, which unfortunately I haven't got! The theory of machine Gun fire, ranges elevation etc. is also fairly difficult. Machine Gunnery of today is run very much on the principles of artillery. By the way while I think of it, there is a slide rule in one of the drawers in Sholto's room which I should be glad if you would send me, one has to have one for working out calculations quickly in this business. If I could get that one in time it would save me buying another as they cost about £1.10.0 & it wouldn't cost anything to mail it over. You cant mistake it, if you see it. It is about 1 foot long & in a black case.
