Trenches 11th July
Dear Erroll--
Sorry to hear you had to take another six weeks course, I expect the examiner didn't know what he was Talking about as you would be a hanged site more capable than most subalterns -- however you will be all right next time --
We are just putting over some trench mortars. They are great things 33 pounders, you can see them
