July 24. Very hot.

No time for entry.

August 14th. Went to Boulogne to buy a [illegible] for men also [illegible], etc. Met Miss Osborne & Miss Ramsey also Miss Sterling. Had a most topping time. Miss Osborne brought the [illegible] etc for me, thanks for her brother's letter of introduction.

Aug 15th. Buying the above. Had lunch with Miss Osborne & above ladies. Later on they had tea with me. Spent the evening with them after dinner.

Aug 16. Returned to duty.

Too busy

Aug 23. Wrote Mattie Lawrence, Jessie, Emma & Hugh Mortin & Mother & Father.

Aug 24 Noticed my late Colonel killed. Also my late Coy Commander. also our Adjutant of D.C.L.I.

Aug 28 Lt Austin arrived. Osborne into tea.
