breaking up. Cycled out to WANQUETIN & had tea with Capt Slade. In evening motored with Slade into H.Q. Saw the C.O. & dined with him, a most enjoyable evening. Plenty of wine & cigars. C.O. most charming & Slade & I are both having a Colbrook Coy of 500 men each. Cycled back from WANQUETIN without a light but the flashes of our guns & Duty lights, etc showed me the way. Peterson returned. Slept on floor O.K.

May 11th Very busy packing up. Very hot. Motored in H.Q. with Cpl Mulen & also brought him back. Everything there in a state chaos. Ball, orderly room Sgt, sent to his Coy for duty.

May 12th Very heavy bombardment on. Very [illegible] Very busy packing up.

May 13 (Sun) Rainy day. Handed over to Lieu Willcocks for Cpt Brook of 154 ColbrookCoy. No longer O/C B Coy. Celebrated evening with Lieu Peterson, Lieu Wilcocks & Lieu Jamison on behalf of my late Staff C.S.M. Thornburrow, Cpl Mulen etc, a very nice time. Heavy rain & heavy
