Feb 27th Moved to Duisans to take over from Lieu Peterson. Received gloves from Mrs & Miss Grove & mufflers from mother for my men. My men seemed very hard worked but in good spirits. Sleeping in a canvas ten & mud two feet deep.

Feb 28th Very busy all day & night. At Moreil Station 700 tons of stone arrived. Saw A.P.M. Gave us permission to drive over an observed road for two days. Also went on the Warlus Agnes road. Had gloves & parcel from G & K.

March 1st Early in the morning about 2 A.M. very heavy artillery fire & trench mortar until 6:30 with a second interval. No sleep. Saw A.P.M. went to R.E. Park & Moreil Station unloading stone & working again until midnight. The guns again busy & turned quite cold. A very busy day. Saw Capt. Bowen R.E.

Mar 2nd Very busy doing rounds. Went to H.Q. 720 tons of stone in & unloaded. A very busy day.
