Jan 13 Quiet day - most of time spent in Orderly Room.

Jan 14th Orderly room - then into Beaufort met the Dr on his way to see me - Saw the Colonel - Lieu Clarke gone on leave - was told I may go home (Cheers) - Dr had lunch with me - found the attached men at Bavincourt. Received two parcels from Holland - the gifts of Mrs Helmer - had letter from Miss Grish & Percy. Heavy firing going on ov-night - had tea with Webb.

Jan 15th Quiet day. Lieut Sykes (West Kents) Town Mayor came to tea & dinner. Had a letter from Jessie & Lieut Wallace R.I.A.

Jan 16th Very cold & frosty - bad cold have notification of leave on Jan 22. Tres bon. Went into Beaufort & saw Capt Williams & he told me I was to go on leave on Monday Jan 22. Lieut Sykes came to tea - went into Frevent - back to dinner - letter from mother & Roseanne of Trecto.
