Dec 19th Sun - Motored over with Webb to take tea & dinner at Wenquiton with Capt Llode & from there we motored on to Duisans to see the other half of my company & on our way in again overtook the 6th D.C.L.I. on their way to the trenches. I recognized several of the officers I had already seen on Dec 15th. It was very cold.

Dec 20th Went into headquarters to see Col Moody about Malin's Commission.

Dec 24th Received chocolates & Creme-de-Menthe from Margaret Bryant- also Tatler & also a letter & photo of Jessie.

Dec 25 Xmas day - no work - Gave my men a dinner also tobacco - cigarettes & a pint of beer each & in the evening also. I had finished my dinner they came outside my room & sang carols, which was very nice. My Xmas pudding & cakes which Mother & Percy sent - not arrived - Webb & I had dinner together.
