If anyone says that those Germans are not game and will not scrap you tell them they miss their guess as they are johnnie on the spot. One fellow hit me a smash over the face with a stick that in civil life would have put me out but all I got out of it was a black eye. I heard yesterday that Wm McCallum and B. Pope are over here in the 7th Battn and I am going to see them to-day they are on our right somewhere
