Dear Fred

Your personal letter 4/10/17 & the Barkerville (or Cariboo) Buget 30/9/17 reached me to day at this place. As usual, many thanks for the same. Your steady & regular work in corresponding with us overseas is much appreciated by all who get your letters & by many who do not get them direct. Yours had been to my unitt in France & my Segt. sent it to my home address & they sent it on at once John Petterson is in this camp & I took your letter & news up to him to show him. He also had just today got one from you same day, been delayed some where.

I wrote to you a long letter from Hale Cheshire where I was in hospital telling you something of life in hospital & out side life as seen by a wounded man. Most likely you have received it since but if not I may later on repeat some of it. In case you did not get it I was slightly wounded by a piece of shell (still in my back or else were) & very hard hit
