My dear Elizabeth,

Say I do think you are awfully kind for the two most amusing letters that I have received from you, you have no idea how very welcome they are I suppose I have been very remis in writing but the situation is this. I am in a little room (much smaller than Mr. Ellisons study) I have a telephone on one side of me & on the other a typewriter at my back are two doors which constantly are opening with people who wish to either speak to me or the Quartermaster, I
