maid and the four is just a nice innocent English girl. I should judge she was beginning her twenties.

We had 5 o clock tea and supper about eight. It was quite a nice home with two maids to wait on the table. Bert was supplied with cigars, which he said were pretty good. Two sons have joined the army, one had a commission and was killed, the other is still above ground. I wish these had been good times and
