We start firing practice in four days now. There sure is going to be some fun that day. None of the fellows ever saw a gun before.

Last Thursday was pay day. I got $21.65, $5 being taken off for my uniform, $1.35 for washing and $5 was paid the middle of the month. Of the $21.65, I have to send $10 to help pay Wadds, $5 for spending money and the rest I am saving to go to Ottawa. It is now that I realize what a good time the soldier boys must of had at
