Petawawa Camp Sept. 2/17.

My Dear Mother:

I received your letter yesterday. It was addressed to Bert, but knowing it was from home I opened it. Bert is away on leave at present. I don't know what they could have been thinking about in the orderly room to send some of his mail home before I could get it.

It was very thoughtless of me
