Dearest Mother & Father I got two letters the other day before yesterday Au 17 & 21st they both took a long time to come. Today I had a letter from Vernon and a Vernon News so I have been rather lucky this week. There has been some real summer weather lately and we have had a great time swimming the horses in the ocean. I was down this after noon and the water is still quite warm in fact warmer than it was in June & July. Harry Williams went to France last Wed night going to the 47th battn I tried to arrange it so that he would go to the 2nd C.I.Rs but he was to anxious to get over and I am afraid he will be in the big
