Dearest Mother & Father -
Your letter of Jan 13th arrived yesterday I also got one from Mrs Mickelborough - I'm still on the working party putting in some deep dugouts - we are down about 45 ft now and just commencing to put in the chamber. it is all chalk so it is not very hard digging - We have had a dandy winter so far until today it has been snowing & windy. I guess the bear stays out, so it is a good sign for an early spring. I have only had one letter from Bert & Vernon and that
