Love and lotion. Many things have happened and many changes have occurred in that time but I have on the best of authority - that is you there is no change and that you are as loyal today to [illegible] as you ever were. It is unnecessary for me, Dodie, to tell you 'special creature' how much I appreciate your staunchness. What a terrible imposition is being done that poor little girl and what a law Sarah and Frank has been. When the trouble arose I asked and begged of [illegible] to write her friends, some perhaps not so personal as yourself, and give them her side of the affair. I could not get her to do anything, however, she preferring to let people find out the truth for themselves. I wrote Katie just a few facts concerning the matter a few days ago and asked her to show you the letter, also Ruth. I know Ruth is also a friend and I am anxious you both should know at least a few truths concerning the affair. Please be sure and have Katie show you the letter.
