we don't see a horse and cart once a month, we'll get rum over at every street corner, over two years now since we were first confined to our ships in Hamburg - aren't I a lucky beggar eh? If there's anything doing I'm sure to be in it - and two years in November since we came here, I hope old dear, you won't keep me as long without a letter as I did you, but of course you must take into consideration my correspondence per month is very limited - you have sent some snap shots you once mentioned, how would it be if you sent me two or three, they would arrive somewhere about Xmas time, our third here, and would bring a very cheery welcome also. There's no news to tell you, every day is exactly the same, like two peas, except for the weather, which is and has been most variable all the so called summer. Hasn't Babs got married by now? You must please give
