war would do the same as they had done but I thought it inexcusable for fellows who had no one depending on them to hold back, as I believe they did!! I dont think she liked me a bit for saying it, but I couldn't resist. Lots of fellows who came away at the same time as I did could have got commissions in the 2nd or 3rd Contingent but as we couldn't get them in the 1st we preferred to enlist. (Excuse(?) the blots but I has just spilt part of a drink!) We had quite a gay time with Graham & it was great to see him again. I have been most awfully lucky in
