30th Reserve BattN. C.E.F.

2nd British Columbia RegT

Haines is now second in command. You may possibly remember him. He shared an office in Vancouver at one time with old Best (who by the way I have seen several times but not since before Xmas last) and married a Miss Biggs. Raynes, now a major, came into the club the other evening. He is in the band who have just arrived. Last night I saw Watts. He also has just arrived, a captain in some Montreal Highland Regiment. I feel quite a veteran beside all these newcomers! The news from Vancouver is very sparse and you've no idea, old pal how much I should appreciate another letter from you. The above address will always find me. Give my very best to the following reserving stacks for your dear self (provided of course you are on good terms with them). Your mother and father, Caroline, Phil, Sandy Reid and his missus, Max (never mind Ted!), Frieda Kendall, Daphne, Babs and anyone else you think would like it. Yrs to a cinder.
