1916 March 1st Belgium
My dear Dodie,
Rossie read me part of your most interesting letter, and on the whole you seem to be having a fairly cheerful time. Surely you left out a lot of scandal, so if you have time just sit down and think of some and write and tell me all about it, who loves who, and has badly etc. Is it time you have received another watch bracelet; I hope you are not wasting your time Dodie? Unfortunately we cannot do otherwise out here, honestly I have not seen a girl in Belgium fit for Rossie to sleep with!! This is the most Godforsaken country I have ever seen or been in and I shall be more than thankful
