about 800 yards from the German trenches & bullets were flying over us all the time. Two of my men were hit, not badly however. We have to walk about but someday the bullet will come along that's meant for me, so why worry. Mornmilt , two other officers and self were all playing bridge together the last time we were in the tranches when the Germans started shell, there was no lord stopping playing but if a shell had hit our abode we would have been badly mixed up. Life is really existing & no one worries.
