is satisfied. Sam blows out his chest or stomach, pats it, & says "I (2 pats) Sam (3 pats) sent over 4 divisions to France" (half a dozen pats - stomach). Today I saw a screamingly funny article in an English paper evidently written or at least inspired by Sam calling him the Canadian Kitchener & saying he was the Beloved God of the Canadians.

Lor you ought to hear the remarks about it and him. Some remarks, believe me.

When writing address to 62nd Battn, CEF, Army Post Office, London & as soon as I know definitely I am going to 2nd C.M.R. I'll let you know - In case I don't get your letters or get plugged you had better put on outside Return to Leighton & your address. By the bye if I shuffle off this mortal coil I've given my brother a list of persons to notify - I put yours there (at least R Leighton Esq) & thought you'd be pleased to know.

I'm so awfully glad to hear Wm Leighton is doing so well at Reno & I only hope he'll soon make his pile - You've all had awful hard luck & it's about time things did turn out trumps for you - Still I don't advise you to be a real Lady again as work is good for you & keeps you out of mischief.
