Mon Jan 8 Inspect by Genl Burstall Div. Commander, myself adjutant. Cold. Major Latta turned up
Tues Jan 9 Went back to front line. Book lost (code)
Wed Jan 10 Major Wilmot returned. Col Ray & offrs of 4th Bn visited the trenches also Genl - Gr strafer on far left
Thurs Jan 11 Finished 25 hours spell of duty - at 6 AM. Loss of book reported to Bde
Fri Jan 12 Walked to P.W.P.to Bouvigny to Gouy Servins to Verdrel to Bracquencourt & back to Trenches about 20 miles. Saw Col. Ross at Transport.
Sat Jan 13 Snowed at night. Considerable TM strafing - Came out to Ablain. Code book found in kit of Major R.
