Dearest Mother

Today is a very windy day so I am taking advantage of a short period of rest to write you. Your letters of April 29th and May 6th have been joyfully received. I am afraid I do not get all the papers you send as you speak of them repeatedly and I have acknowleged all I receive. The last that reached me contained the news of poor Rod Finlayson's death. That will be a hard blow to his mother and sisters - he was an only son. I am wondering if old Cliff is in the thick of it now. Have
