Dear People:

Just a few lines before going back to the old job. Have had a splendid leave — lots of rest and nothing to think about but meal time. I stayed a week at Pontefract and as part of the family went to Hastings to visit some relatives it was very quiet. There were just the Doctor, the second daughter, Kathleen, and myself. We played tennis and went out in the motor with the Doctor on his rounds in the "country." Mrs. Blomfield was anxious to have me go to Hastings, while they were there so I went down last Tuesday and stayed till last night — Thursday. It is just one of The usual English south-coast seaside-resorts
