than I do so we declared that after putting in six months in France we would have to try and push off home and do a little instructing again.

We are settled down again and hope to be settled down for the summer. Lately the weather has not been so fine and at last it has broken so we will get a real rest, though the pressure on us was relieved somewhat a few days ago by the Brigadier, who at the time of telling this, warmly praised the way the squadron had worked. Two of our chaps won the M.C. in the rush, one a Canadian the other a South African. The Canadian one successfully fought four Hun two-seater, sending one down in flames and driving the others off. He came home with his machine badly shot up but not a scratch on himself. The South African has steadily been doing splendid work and seemed absolutely untiring when we were
