1st witness, Allan Stephenson

Having been duly sworn states, I was in my stall on the morning of the 23th of July when the Chinaman Ah Sigh came hook my box. In about a minute I heard the box giving way to fall. I called out to the Chinaman but he didn’t answer. I then ran out & found the man lying under the box. He was not quite dead. I gave him some tea & sent for H. Bolton who is the Superintendent of the runnery [?}. The man was about dead by the time Bolton & a Chinaman arrived. James Crosson is my partner & he helped all I have stated. Allan Stevenson
