S [?] Archer Constable sworn Saturday morning about ½ past 9 o’clock I went to the old shaft [?] in the Vancouver Ground. Could not find the body of the child. Ah F Lang gave information that a child had been thrown down a shaft in [illegible]. He described to Lindsay [?] Chief Constable the place where the child had been thrown down.

Went back on Sunday and found the body. This is the body inspected by the [?] jury. The Chinawoman supposed to be the mother of the child pointed out to one the place where the body of the child was.
