INQUISITION.

To Wit.

Nanaimo District, British Columbia

An Inquisition indented taken at Nanaimo, V.I. British Columbia, the 30th day of May in the 37th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, before me, Warner [illegible] Spalding, gentleman, one of the Coroners for our Lady the Queen, for the District aforesaid, upon the view of the body of Ah Hee a Chinaman then and there and within the jurisdiction of the said Coroner, lying dead, upon the oaths of John J. [Landale?], Foreman, James Allan, Frederick [Reamer?], John Fisher, Moses Webb, John Hunter, good and lawful men of Nanaimo aforesaid, in the said District, who being now here sworn and charged to enquire, on the part of our said Lady the Queen, when, where, how, and after what manner, the said Ah Hee Chinaman came to his death, do say upon their oath, that the Chinaman Ah Hee was killed on the 30th day of May 1874 at the Coal Works of the Vancouver Coal Mining Company by falling accidentally down a coal shaft and thereby
