by noon we had the required distance and afternoon is spent running across small peninsula:

April 12th [illegible] today: as bush is very wet from recent rain orders are given to move camp by canoes to far end of lake Chainers and axemen run a very few chains on the line and return to a tempting dinner at 6 p.m.

April 13th Today we triangulate second half of lake and run the line a bit farther until rain stops us when we return to the camp fire and spend the evening in telling yarns.
