April 7th We move camp to Lake below where two canoes await to transport us to other side: a very pretty lake it is abounding with trout: with several comfortable looking domiciles on its inviting shores.

Sproats Lake and Road

As soon as camp is pitch dinner is announced and one settler comes around to see our outfit, inviting our surveyor over to dinner in the evening: the latter says in his own blunt way "Can't come. dont dine
