Plotting map all day -

German Aeroplane tackled by a Britisher near Steenwerck - Brought down with shot thru reservoirs - when near ground opens fire with machine gun on route-marching battalion KR.R's - who open fire & riddle the aviators - Two officers - Brand new biplane

Example of officer English "Twas him that learned me" - corrected to "Twas him that taught me" - "The applicant for commission must have a good standard of education."

Right section Trenches 121-127

From "Stand-To until midnight the enemy fired heavy bursts of rifle & machine-gun fire 11pm red lights app 123 followed by a few rounds of artillery-fire.

Aircraft 730 am. Today an enemy plane at great altitude approached our line from the East. Dropped two smoke bombs & later two red Lights - One of our machines engaged
