much. You really shouldn't have done this, because I still have a comfortable nest egg in the bank of C. in London & I feel a rotten sponger on you like this. Any extra cash that you have over, after paying bills etc. must be spent on Mother's and your Californian trip, see. Don't think that I am running on the [?] because out here one doesn't spend very much (at least I haven't yet) so my pay should be [?] to some extent. Mail has been coming not too badly lately have been awfully pleased as I got your two & several from Mother within last week, tres bon! Before this I had quite a long space without getting any, but got several papers which were must appreciated. I was amazed to read about
