hits English soil again. I was awfully interested in hearing about R's planned escape (by a tunnel) which he & others had been working on before he was interned, It was certainly a fine piece of work & splendid that others at any rate benefited by it! You mentioned this in your letter of 13th Sept. I meant to start this letter of mine, by acknowledging yours of the 27th Sept enclosed in which was a cheque for £10 which came to hand a couple of days ago. I got so wound up in scribbling pages of my experiences that I forgot the moment the much important thing that I set out to do in this letter so pardon the omission. My goodness Pa this was most awfully kind of you to send such a generous "plesant". Thank you ever so
