lucky, there are practically no watch makers to handle the business these days, all of them have had to join up. It is certainly the limit having to wait so long for such a small job - Wengen would have put it right in 1/2 an hour, so I was compelled to buy a cheap one, to use in the meantime. Paid £2.0.0 for it and the blasted thing "went back on me" after I had had it 2 days. I shipped it back again to the shop I bought it from, plus a few "remarks," got it back again yesterday after waiting two weeks! I am having my name and date engraved on the back of my good watch. The date you gave it to me was June 21st 1917, curious that I should send it up June 21st 1918 to have engraving done. I had quite a nice letter from R.D.G. this morning, nothing particular in it, but good to know that he is having more or less a decent time. I will enclose
