but not wildly exciting, am getting onto something more strenuous this week, Oliphant & I are down for an anti gas course , starting in tomorrow. I think it should be very interesting & of course it is absolutely essential. I don't know how long it lasts but I think about 10 days. Hope they issue me with a good sound mask! i think I ought to mail a gas mask out to Mr. Cross don't you, I'm sure he would find it most useful! Officers joining the M.G.C. have to pass a small "Mathy " exam. I was rather worried when I heard this, as you will remember perhaps that Mathematics at school were never my shiny point, in fact I believe I was the cause of some poor old [?] grey hairs! However as it turned out the paper was very simple really, & I was much relieved! I have definitely decided now to join this unit I was only attached to start with, but I have now signed for my transfer. I think it is a useful branch to be with, certainly our men are a fine looking lot, they are all specially picked from the Infantry Bas for the job. I only wish I would get
