My Dearest Mother
Another week has passed since I wrote my last letter home, (I believe it was to Dugald last week) The weeks go by pretty quickly, I wish I had more news to tell you, but of course there is a dreadful sameness about the weeks routine here, so I'm afraid you'll have to put up with the little news you get! Things have been looking up in the way of mail this last week, 2 from you and one from Father today dated May 21st to acknowledge. Many thanks to you both, you've no idea how one appreciates good letters from home (such as you both write.) These days, I am always looking anxiously out for any Canadian Mail. Father's last letter must have just connected with a boat, as you will notice it came much quicker this time. I am very much afraid a number of my letters which I have written to you have gone down, as I heard a rumor that one or two boats going back to Canada
