My dear Mother

Just a line to let you know that I fetched up O.K. I had a good lower berth + the cabin all to myself on the boat - Got in about 7 A.M. Came up to this hotel + had some breakfast then went down to the barracks. The [G.C.?] was quite civil + I don't think he thought I had been having any unnecessary leave, as he remarked that he could see I had been ill + thought that I wasn't looking up to the scratch yet. He had got Dr Frasers letter! I told him I couldn't stand being cooped up without any exercise + I thought that I might be knocked out again, so he told me to try another trip, + if it doesn't agree with me I'm to write him a letter sending in my resignation which I think I will most likely do. I wish the devil I had done that from Victoria + then be never
