Dear Miss. Russell;

Many, many thanks for your very welcomed letter and lovely parcel received a few days ago. How can I thank you for being so good to think of me. The socks fitted to a "T" and felt so comfortable on the feet. The candy was A.1. too.

We have been having lovely weather lately and the sun has dried up all the mud and you can't imagine what a relief it is.

I met "Billy Baker" about a month ago, he is working in Hqtrs. and is looking fine.

Some of the boys are making Oxo so I must get my hot water before it is all gone. We have a lovely stove so it does not take long to heat water. We built a little
