others of its kind either 1. won't burn at all, 2. gives a passable imitation for about 10 minutes of what to expect in the next world or 3. suffocates you! The other officers retired in disgust some time ago and are now dozing in odd corners wrapped in blankets but I persevered and am rewarded by the second and most pleasant phase of the braziers characteristics. We are pretty full up with officers, I have 6 in this company, a weird and wonderful collection, some quite imposs. The Lord only knows where most of them come from. One thing they usually don't last long. I have recently had two letters from Ella, they have been following me about all over the place but have at last come home to roost, one had some jolly good photos of the place in it, made me feel quite homesick. This Italian business has been a bit of a shock but guess we can't expect the ice cream merchants to do much against
