My Darling Mother

I hav'nt had any letter lately from home. I hope things are going a little better than they were, and that you are not working your heads off. The country around here is fine now. We have just had a couple of days rain and everything is fresh and green. It makes me home sick. We have little gardens in front of our huts but there is nothing up yet. I hav'nt seen any garden around yet they can't come up to yours. Mother you must have an awful lot to do now that [illegible] has left and there is no one to help you with the housework. How is Elizabeth getting along with the bank work. I can imagine how tired she is at night. Tell her to write and
