She is a very fine little girl.

Your description of the "Book" part was very amusing. I can readily imagine it must have been "some" party. I am greatly surprised hearing that Phil has not left and taken command of the U.S. Army. Judging from his warlike talk which I had the extreme pleasure and great pain in listening to on many occasions. I fail to see how the US Army can possibly get along without him. Probably it is now thought that savage stands in the way. No doubt many fellows in Vancouver have awakened lately to the fact that they are [illegible] than they thought themselves.

Things are going along the same with me, Dodie, but I long to see you all again. Fancy I have been away fourteen months.

Please write again soon. With kindest regards to your brother & Father also Ruth and with last to yourself.

Yours sincerely, Clarence
