blooming error, no such luck. It appears they had another 2/300 officers coming in in about 10 days time & they wanted more instruction. I said "nothing doing" right away, & the Commandant said "Why not" and I said "Because I want to get to the Front". He said "Can you do better by remaining with your unit", & at that I began to think. Of course I could do nothing with the 62nd & we were out at Sir[?] Landling[?] away from everything & all my hopes of getting over relied on Col Burland (the Commandant of the CMS) so I said, "If I come & help you through this rush will you help me over to France after?" & he said "Yes" , so I accepted, really having no other option & here I am instructing in "Organization & Administration". I hear that they sent in a splendid report about me as a result of the Staff Course.

My brother Frank went over again yesterday. He's already had 8 months in the trenches - & joined a month after I did - seems funny , doesn't it? It looks as though I were flunking[?] it.

Just fancy, [illegible] having another baby - she is joining[?] it. Why I shall expect you to have a large family next - Hope it all comes off alright - Give her my love - Why, what with Larry, Brooks, Studd, & Harris[?] Martin ; Vancouver will be a regular creche soon, Good luck to 'em all.

So really Dodie old girl I didn't get your photo & I would like one very much if its a good one - I have never had one of you. You offered me several snapshots which were not like you & I refuse[?] them preferring my own memory of what you looked like
