you talk about being [?] of, well I had a letter from hanna[?] saying that they were in the same way, no mountains[?] could be used on the lands at all. I should love to be in the snow again. I have always wanted to try and ski, it seems so fascinating. Will you teach me if I can manage to come to B.C. after the war, it would be grand to do it together.

You seem to be having some trouble with the Huns in Canada, give them a little time when you get them. I do not seem to be able to work up a "hate" against Americans in the sam way as one does against the Germans. I would prefer to be in the Baltic for that reason. We have had some rotten luck out here with out boats; but hope for letters. I had a lively twenty minutes under fire the other day, but managed to get away, it seems ignaminous and makes me angry, but it had to be done as I could not retaliate.
