My dear Dodie,

I sat down to write to you last night, but was so stuffy that I gave it up, as your letter of Feb. 5th arrived this morning it was a good thing I did. I do not admire the photograph in the newspaper writing it did not convey the slightest idea of what you are like. I am sure that you are much more attractive in your ordinary clothes that you wear every day. I hope that you are sending me a photograph that is not pantomimie. I have had another go at sending you mine and am going to send another when we come back again. I am sorry about the lace, but now that I know what you want I shall write and try and get some. I am afraid that "butterflies" are not *al[?] in Malta, but I will see what we can do. If you had sent me a design, I could have got some made.

I sincerely hope that you did not stay with the Jone's, as I do not like them. I am rather surprised about them not paying their bills, as she certainly had a fair amount of
